Cambridge Champs

The Peewee T1 team wins the Cambridge Tournament this past weekend.

The Kitchener Panthers Major Peewee Tier 1 were champions on Sunday July 29th in the first annual “Nokona World Series tournament” in Cambridge.  In keeping with the “World Series” theme, all teams were given jersey’s representing an American or National Major League Team.  For the weekend the Panthers were known as the Kitchener Pirates.  The Pirates went 3 and 0 in round robin play, to win their pool.  On Sunday morning they faced the St. Thomas Cardinals in a semi-final match.  Down 5 to 0 in the 3rd inning, the Pirates came back to win this game 18 to 9 putting them into the finals against the Simcoe Giants.  Finding themselves down after the second inning 3 to 0 the Pirates came back to win the championship game 12 to 8.  The boys truly played as a team, and never lost hope that they could win the whole thing!!!!
