The Kitchener Panthers - Minor Mosquito Tier Two team participated in the Oakridge Optimist Baseball Association annual tournament this past weekend.
The Panthers faced EBBA on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The final score was 10 - 3 for Kitchener.
Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., Kitchener played against Georgina and won 19 - 4.
Saturday afternoon Kitchener faced Royal York and won their third game in a row, 19 - 8. The Panthers had made the playoffs!!!!
Sunday morning saw the Panthers competing in the semi finals against Toronto Playground. Kitchener fought hard and won the game 13 - 7.
The finals were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.; Kitchener Panthers versus Georgetown; a tier one team. The Panthers played hard and put in a great effort. Playing back to back games in the extreme heat while Georgetown was well rested, proved to be just too much for the Panthers. Georgetown won 12 - 2.
Solid pitching, amazing D and some great hits made for a really great weekend of ball.
The Panthers’ coaching staff are so very proud of the boys’ performance all weekend and are happy taking home second place! Way to go Panthers!!
