The Panthers opened up an 9-0 lead in game 1 of the Vaughan tournament against Barrie before settling for a 13-6 win.After jumping out to a 9-0 lead after a pair of innings, the Red Sox took advantage of some defensive miscues and timely hits to score six runs in the top half of the third making it a 9-6 game.
That was the only offense the Red Sox could muster as the Panthers scored four more times in the bottom of the fifth to round out the 13-6 win.
Talman Young picked up the win pitching 2.1 innings of no hit baseball. Kyle Mooney and Jaxen Reeve combined for 2.2 innings, scattering three hits. Reeve fanned 4 in his two innings of work.
The Panthers are back on the field tomorrow morning to face the Brampton Royals at 11:30 am.
